Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Asim Munir met with Gen Michael Erik Kurilla, the commander of the US Central Command (Centcom), to discuss cooperation in regional security matters. The meeting took place during the COAS’ visit to Headquarters Central Command at Tampa Bay, Florida. Topics of discussion included shared interests, joint training, and the need to enhance training interactions between Centcom and the Pakistan Army. Additionally, COAS Munir met with key US government officials, including UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and held a community dinner with the Pakistani diaspora in Washington. The US State Department spokesperson also stated that Pakistan is a major non-Nato ally of the United States and a Nato partner, and that the US continues to support free and fair elections in Pakistan.
