Drain Explosion in Karachi’s Lasbela Chowk Claims Life of Courier Company Employee: Police

On Saturday, the police discovered the body of a young individual inside a drain in Karachi’s Lasbela Chowk. The explosion, which occurred the day before, is believed to have been caused by the accumulation of gases. The victim, an employee of TCS, had been reported missing after the incident. After conducting a search operation with the assistance of divers, the police found his lifeless body near Patel Para on Saturday morning. It is a short 10-minute walk from Lasbela Chowk, the site of the explosion, according to Google Maps.

According to SHO Haider, the deceased had left his office to exchange currency when the explosion occurred, causing him to fall into the drain. He added that the victim was the only son of his parents, and his father worked as a rickshaw driver.

Meanwhile, East-Senior Superintendent of Police Zubair Nazeer Shaikh stated that they were awaiting the final report from the bomb disposal squad to determine the exact cause of the explosion. The incident also resulted in damage to vehicles, furniture, and kitchen items at an eatery.
