DI Khan: Unknown individuals attacked a police mobile van transporting accused criminals. According to the police, unknown individuals opened fire on the police mobile van in Lucky Marwat. The accused criminals, who were being transferred from Ghazni Khel police station to Lucky Marwat police station, were attacked, resulting in one of the accused being injured while the other accused and the police personnel remained safe.
Initial reports suggest that firing was carried out on the SHO Lucky Marwat and the investigating officer along with the police personnel.
The police stated that the accused Latif and Anis, wanted in various serious cases including theft, robbery, and kidnapping, were being brought to the Lucky Marwat police station for interrogation. The accused criminals, along with a stolen motorcycle, were being taken to the Lucky Marwat police station for investigation when firing occurred on the police van near Wanda Stari on Lucky-Dera Road.
After the attack, the unknown assailants fled towards the Gambila River. The police van also sustained damage due to the firing.
The police have started a search operation by sealing off the area to apprehend the attackers.
