Container carrying Afghan families overturns, resulting in two deaths and 14 injuries

Crane machine is being used to place containers to block link road along Motorway-1 to stop activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf from entering Islamabad ahead of the party’s Nov 2 protest in the federal capital city.

At least two persons were killed and 14 others sustained severe injuries in the mishap, rescue sources said.

According to rescue sources, the container was carrying several Afghan families destined for Afghanistan.

The container went out of the control of the driver and overturned after colliding with a bridge, sources shared. “The injured have been shifted to the hospital for medical attendance,” rescue sources added.

Pakistan has fixed a November 01 deadline for foreign nationals illegally staying in the country to leave.

He said no person will be allowed to stay illegally in the country any more.
