COAS Munir and PM Kakar Briefed on Security Matters in Quetta, Pakistan

General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff, and caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar visited Quetta on Tuesday to discuss various security issues in the region. The provincial apex committee meeting was held to address concerns regarding law enforcement operations, anti-smuggling efforts, and the safety of foreign nationals in Balochistan.

During the meeting, the participants were briefed in detail about the revised National Action Plan, ongoing law enforcement operations, initiatives against smuggling and narcotics, and the security measures in place for foreign workers involved in both CPEC and non-CPEC projects. They were also informed about the repatriation of illegal foreign nationals, foreign currency regulations, and the progress of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in Balochistan.

The Chief of Army Staff reiterated the army’s commitment to collaborating with law enforcement agencies and government departments to combat illegal activities and prevent the country from incurring economic losses. The Prime Minister expressed confidence in the progress made by the Balochistan government and assured full support from the federal government.

PM Kakar emphasized that the socio-economic development of Balochistan is crucial for ensuring peace and prosperity in the province. He highlighted the abundant mineral resources in Balochistan and stressed the importance of fostering development to stimulate economic activity and create job opportunities for the local population. He also emphasized the need to invest in agriculture, IT, and human resource development.

The Prime Minister called for collaboration and coordination among all relevant departments to maximize the positive impact of these initiatives. The participants expressed their commitment to progress and prosperity for the province, emphasizing the unity of state institutions, government departments, and the people of Balochistan.

Overall, the meeting focused on enhancing security measures, promoting socio-economic development, and fostering collaboration among different stakeholders for the betterment of Balochistan province in Pakistan.
