Renowned Indian journalist Vikrant Gupta has praised Muhammad Rizwan for his outstanding batting performance, which played a crucial role in Pakistan’s historic chase in the eighth match of the ICC World Cup 2023. Gupta highlighted Rizwan as the real winner of the Pakistan cricket team.

Gupta emphasized that a real match winner is someone who consistently contributes in every match, whether it be by scoring 30, 40, 80, or even a century. Speaking on an Indian media outlet, he credited Rizwan for his exceptional performance in the World Cup.

In his opinion, Rizwan’s contributions are not only limited to his individual performance, but he also sets the stage for other players like Pakistan captain Babar Azam to score runs. Gupta believes that Rizwan’s dedication and resilience have given hope to Pakistan in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 and have created an exciting prospect for a Pakistan-India clash.

“Muhammad Rizwan has proved that we have won two out of two matches, even when Babar and Imam-ul-Haq failed to score runs,” Gupta added.

On Twitter, Gupta further praised Rizwan for Pakistan’s victory and expressed his anticipation for the upcoming Pakistan-India match.

Pakistan’s newly-inducted opener, Abdullah Shafique, and wicketkeeper-batsman Muhammad Rizwan played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s dominant victory against Sri Lanka in the World Cup 2023 match at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad.

The Green Shirts secured their second consecutive win in the World Cup as Rizwan and Shafique both scored centuries during a record-breaking run-chase, leading to a comfortable six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka. Chasing a challenging target of 345, Rizwan remained unbeaten with 131 runs, while Shafique contributed 113 runs to the team’s total.
