Mitchell Starc, the Australian star pacer, expressed surprise at the lower pace of Pakistani bowlers in the ongoing test series. Speaking to media at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Starc mentioned that he and others were taken aback by the slower pace of the Pakistan bowlers, as they are used to some bowlers reaching speeds in the 150s. He emphasized that while pace is not everything, it certainly plays a significant role in the game. Pakistan pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi, Khurram Shahzad, Aamer Jamal, and Faheem Ashraf struggled to clock high speeds in their performances. Former test cricketer Waqar Younis also expressed concern about the absence of genuine quick bowlers in the Pakistan squad. Currently, Australia leads the Test series 1-0, with the second Test set to begin on Boxing Day in Melbourne and the third Test scheduled for 3 to 7 January in Sydney.
