Islamabad District and Session Court has cancelled the arrest warrant of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the long march breaking case.

Judicial Magistrate Naveed Khan’s court cancelled the arrest warrant against Ali Amin Gandapur in light of the decision to discharge him from the Islamabad High Court. The court has adjourned the hearing of the long march breaking case against Ali Amin Gandapur until May 20.

Earlier, in the long march breaking case, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had approached the Islamabad District and Session Court to withdraw the non-bailable arrest warrant.

The request for withdrawal of the arrest warrant by Ali Amin Gandapur’s lawyer, Zahoor-ul-Hassan, was submitted in court, in which it was argued that Ali Amin Gandapur never intentionally avoided appearing in court. The argument stated that due to electoral commitments, he was unable to appear in court and requested unconditional forgiveness for disregarding court orders.

The request asked for the withdrawal of the arrest warrant against Ali Amin Gandapur. The court issued orders to cancel the arrest warrant.
