Tokyo: Two passenger planes collided on the runway at New Chitose Airport in Japan, where one of the planes had over 280 passengers on board.

According to international news agencies, this is the second time in two weeks that two passenger planes have collided in Japan. The latest incident occurred at New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido.

There were 289 passengers on board the Korean Air plane, which collided with the Cathay Pacific aircraft on the runway, which was empty. Emergency services were deployed after the collision.

Security authorities cordoned off the area around the affected aircraft, while the fire brigade and aviation teams began rescue operations.

So far, there have been no reports of any casualties or financial losses. Due to heavy snowfall, several flights at New Chitose Airport have already been cancelled.

It should be noted that on January 2, five people were killed in a collision between Japan Airlines and the Coast Guard aircraft at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport.
