Islamabad: The government has issued a notification to increase gas prices by 67% on the condition of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), after which protected consumers will have to pay a fixed monthly charge of 400 rupees and a meter rent of 40 rupees.

Ogra has announced a new gas price schedule for domestic and industrial users. According to the notification, the minimum price for domestic users in the protected category will be 200 rupees, while the maximum price will be 350 rupees per cubic meter.

According to the notification, domestic users in the unprotected category will have to pay a minimum price of 500 rupees, while the maximum price will be 4300 rupees per cubic meter.

Protected consumers will have to pay fixed charges of 1000 to 2000 rupees per month, in addition to gas rates of 2900 rupees per cubic meter for meters and captive power.

According to the notification, in the tandoors, gas will be available for a minimum of 110 rupees and a maximum of 700 rupees per cubic meter, and the gas rates for commercial users have been set at 3900 rupees per cubic meter.

According to the notification, gas rates for the CNG sector have been set at 3750 rupees per cubic meter, while the price of Sui gas for cement factories has been set at 4400 rupees per cubic meter.

According to the notification, the price of Sui gas for fertilizer factories has been set at 1597 rupees per cubic meter and the gas rates for power plants have been set at 1050 rupees per cubic meter.
