Islamabad: The criminal Shah Nawaz Amir has appealed against the death penalty in the Sarah Inaam murder case in the Islamabad High Court. The trial court’s decision was challenged in the Islamabad High Court through advocate Nasir Asghar.

The petition requested the Islamabad High Court to declare the trial court’s decision on December 14 null and void and to acquit the criminal Shah Nawaz Amir from the case.

The petitioner’s position is that the trial court’s decision to sentence Shah Nawaz Amir to death, while acquitting his co-accused, Shameena Shah, is against the law and the facts, therefore the trial court’s decision cannot be upheld in the eyes of the law.

The criminal adopted the position in the petition that the plea for mercy was a fabricated story and was completely unsuccessful in presenting solid evidence.

It should be noted that the trial court had sentenced Shah Nawaz Amir to death and a fine of 1 million rupees for the murder of Sarah Inaam in Islamabad on December 23, 2022.
