Gaza: The Palestinian resistance organization Hamas says that they require an assurance from the United States to stop Israeli attacks on Rafah.

According to international media reports, Hamas senior spokesperson Osama Hamdan said that their organization needs guarantees from the US that Israeli forces will not carry out ground attacks on Rafah to agree to any ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

Hamdan said, “We are still discussing complete ceasefire and full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is making statements against us.”

The Hamas spokesperson said, “Unfortunately, Netanyahu has clearly stated in his statement that they will continue attacks on Rafah despite a ceasefire, which means there will be no ceasefire.”

He further said that a ceasefire will only happen if there are no more Israeli attacks in Rafah and other parts of Gaza.

It is clear that as a result of Israel’s aggressive actions and war crimes in Gaza, over 35,000 fatalities have occurred, mostly involving children and women.
