Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh has emphasized that instead of mere statements, the responsible Chief Minister of Sindh should take serious and practical steps to actively control the price control committees, eliminate inflation and hoarding, and control prices to provide relief to the public.
Provincial spokesperson Mujahid Channa said that crippling inflation and unjust profiteering have made people’s lives miserable. Prices of daily items such as fruits, vegetables, and meat are skyrocketing, and the government’s price control is nowhere to be seen, from extortion in Sindh to vegetable vendors.
They said that despite the reduction in the prices of petrol and diesel, the benefits have not been passed on to the public, and no action is being taken on the government’s price list. Directions have been issued by the Prime Minister to the provincial governments to reduce petrol prices and control prices, but the effects of inflation could not be seen in the form of relief.
Therefore, instead of issuing mere notices or statements, the responsible Chief Minister should take immediate action to activate price control committees, curb unjust profiteering, and control prices so that the people suffering from inflation can have some relief.
