During the recent weeks, the prices of 12 essential items have increased, while the inflation rate has reached 22.32 percent. According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, there has been an acceleration in the decrease in the inflation rate in the country, and the downward trend in the inflation rate has been maintained even in the fourth week.

During the recent week, there was a 1.39 percent decrease in the inflation rate in the country compared to a 1 percent decrease in the previous week. The weekly average inflation rate has decreased to 22.32 percent from 24.37 percent annually.

During the recent week, the prices of 12 essential items increased, while prices of 13 items decreased, and the prices of 25 items remained stable. The class affected the most by inflation is the one with a monthly income ranging from Rs. 22,889 to Rs. 29,517, as their inflation rate remains at 25.88 percent.

According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, during the recent week, the prices of potatoes increased by 4.38 percent, tomatoes by 19.24 percent, eggs by 4.73 percent, fresh milk by 0.41 percent, beef by 0.64 percent, chickpeas by 0.91 percent, cooking oil by 0.89 percent, and vegetable ghee by 0.44 percent.

Meanwhile, the prices of garlic decreased by 1.44 percent, onions by 19.22 percent, chicken by 18.83 percent, sugar by 0.48 percent, mustard oil by 0.48 percent, LP gas by 3.67 percent, flour by 4 percent, basmati rice by 0.75 percent, and kerosene oil by 0.23 percent.

It is reported in the latest weekly report released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics that during the recent week, for income classes with sensitive prices, the inflation rate varied as follows: 15.95 percent for those with a monthly income of Rs. 17,732 to Rs. 17,733, 19.52 percent for those with a monthly income of Rs. 17,734 to Rs. 22,888, 25.88 percent for those with a monthly income of Rs. 22,889 to Rs. 29,517, and 23.26 percent for those with a monthly income of Rs. 29,518 to Rs. 44,175. For high-income classes earning more than $44,176 per month, the inflation rate is 19.99 percent.
