Beijing: If not happy, take a leave, Chinese company introduces new policy.
Balancing work and home life has always been a major issue for which companies at the global level keep coming up with ideas to provide convenience to their employees.
According to a recent report by South China Morning Post, a Chinese retail tycoon recently introduced a unique idea in his firm of ‘unhappy leaves’, allowing employees to take time off if they are not happy.
A retail store in China has introduced a new concept where employees working there can take a leave if they are not happy on any given day, allowing employees to take up to 10 days of ‘unhappy leaves’ annually.
The company’s owner Yu Dongai says, “I want every employee to have the freedom to not come to work when they are not happy.”
He further added that no one can be restricted by the management from taking this leave, as doing so would be a violation of the laws.
