Tehran: Following the death of Ibrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has appointed Mohammad Mokhber as acting president for two months.

According to international news agencies, much like his predecessor Ibrahim Raisi, 68-year-old Mohammad Mokhber is also considered a special envoy of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

It can be estimated from this that in 2021, they were appointed as Iran’s acting president after amending the constitution, with responsibilities equivalent to that of the prime minister.

In addition, they have also remained representatives of the Supreme National Security Council. Prior to this, they have also headed the venture capital fund working under the guidance of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Mohammad Mokhber has headed the Basij organization that enforces strict penalties under Imam Khomeini’s orders from 2007 to 2021 and due to this, the European Union had imposed sanctions on them.

Similarly, they are also included in a 2013 American list that includes the names of those involved in expanding Iran’s nuclear program.
