Quetta: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has stated that there are numerous challenges in Balochistan and they will strive to work towards resolving these issues in line with the spirit of reconciliation with all stakeholders inside and outside the assembly to govern effectively.

Speaking alongside the newly appointed Chief Minister of Balochistan Sardar Jam Kamal Khan and other members of the PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari mentioned that a meeting had taken place with Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan and allied parties.

He expressed that PPP will run the government in Balochistan according to the philosophy and beliefs of Benazir Bhutto, making efforts to reconcile not only with those present in the parliament but also with stakeholders outside the parliament throughout the province.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari highlighted the multitude of issues in Balochistan, emphasizing that tackling these challenges individually by one person or political party would prove difficult. However, by uniting with sincere intentions to solve the issues collectively, positive outcomes can be achieved.

Chairman PPP disclosed that a request has been made to Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan for his first visit as Chief Minister of Balochistan to be in Gwadar, where relief efforts are needed due to recent damages. He also stressed the party’s commitment to preventing further sacrifices and martyrdoms among the people of Balochistan by adhering to the principles of reconciliation.

Regarding the issue of missing persons, he proposed the formation of a parliamentary committee to collectively address and resolve the matter. He urged all political parties to join hands with PPP on this matter in the parliament, as it remains a contentious and serious issue, especially in Balochistan.

Bilawal Bhutto emphasized the need to combat terrorism and extremism according to the National Action Plan, citing the policy devised in 2008 for combating terrorism in Swat and Waziristan. He pledged to follow a similar policy in Balochistan and form a parliamentary committee to address the complex issue of missing persons, appealing to all political parties to work together for a solution.

Chairman PPP thanked the political parties in parliament for not opposing Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan and expressed gratitude towards them for their support in tackling legitimate tasks and resolving issues with honesty and integrity.
