There is a possibility that the first session of the new National Assembly will take place on February 29th in Islamabad. According to sources, Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf will preside over the inaugural session, where newly elected members will take their oaths. Raja Pervaiz Ashraf will administer the oath to the newly elected members, and according to the law, notification of the newly elected members will be issued within 14 days of the election. After the notification of success, women will contest 60 and non-Muslims 10 seats of political parties in the allocation. Independent candidates will be given a 3-day deadline to join any party. According to article 91 of the constitution, a session of the new National Assembly will be called within 21 days of the elections.
