These parliamentary elections mark a significant moment for Indian-administered Kashmir, being the first since the revocation of the region’s autonomy by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government in 2019. Modi has claimed that this move has helped integrate Kashmir with the rest of India, bringing peace and development to an area plagued by separatist violence for decades. Joining us to discuss this issue are Noor Ahmad Baba, a retired political science professor at the University of Kashmir, Sunil Sethi, chief spokesman for the BJP in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, and Radha Kumar, an author and academic.
