Islamabad: The IMF has requested a briefing from the Federal Board of Revenue on 6 important matters, including new tax measures. Sources say that FBR officials will brief the IMF on new tax measures as well as the failure to achieve tax targets for the current fiscal year.
The reasons for the failure of the trader-friendly scheme will also be discussed with the IMF, while briefing on the effective implementation of the Track and Trace System is also on the agenda.
In addition, details of the provinces’ tax collections, incentives, pensions, and tax collections on industry will be provided to the IMF.
According to sources, the IMF will be briefed on the performance of FBR’s regional offices and measures to prevent smuggling.
