In Karachi, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab has questioned why the Cantonment Board staff did not arrive after the fire broke out. After a fire broke out in a shopping mall on Rashid Minhas Road, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab visited the site of the incident. During the visit, he told the media that the building on fire is not under the jurisdiction of the DHA or the Cantonment Board. He questioned why the Cantonment Board staff did not arrive at the scene despite the fact that the mentioned location falls under their jurisdiction. He said that it is regrettable that a child fell into a drain in Mehmood Goth. The lids of the drains, which are often used by drug addicts for theft, are sold. He questioned why the police do not arrest the drug addicts who sell the lids instead of the people who buy them. Commissioner Karachi, Sohail Rajput, speaking to the media, said that the building does not have an external route and a fire alarm system, which allowed the fire to engulf the building. He said that a visit to the shopping centers in Karachi will be conducted from Sunday, and those shopping malls which do not have fire systems and external routes will be sealed. A complete inquiry will be conducted into the building where the fire broke out.
