West Indies Women’s Team defeats Pakistan in the One Day series with a whitewash

Karachi: West Indies Women’s team defeated Pakistan by 88 runs in the third and final one day match to win the series 0-3.

Pakistan Women’s team collapsed at 190 runs in 47.5 overs chasing the target of 279 runs. Guest captain Hayley Matthews scored a career-best 141 runs and also took 2 wickets.

With this series win, West Indies earned 6 valuable points in the ICC Women’s Championship. After the series defeat, Pakistan’s direct entry into the Championship was also lost. This was Pakistan’s 13th loss in the 21st match of the championship.

In the third and final one day match at the National Bank Stadium, West Indies Women’s team won the toss and scored 278 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.

26-year-old Caribbean captain Hayley Matthews made a century in the One Day International, facing 149 balls and hitting 19 boundaries.

Shenell Henry scored 47, Shemaine Campbelle made 38 runs, Rashada Williams and Chedean Nation scored 9, 9 runs, while Stephanie Taylor made 4 runs, Aaliyah made 2 and Afy Fletcher remained not out with 1 run.

Anam Amin took 3 wickets giving away 54 runs, Fatima Sana took 2 wickets for 67 runs, Fatima completed 50 wickets in her 38th match. Captain Nida Dar took one wicket, while Maham Tariq, Tuba Hassan, and Aaliyah Riaz failed to get any wickets.

In response, the hosts’ team failed miserably to reach the target and were bowled out at 190 runs in 47.5 overs. Muneeba Ali scored 38, Aaliyah Riaz made 36, Fatima Sana and Tuba Hassan scored 23 each, and Bismah Maroof contributed with 19 runs.

Sidra Ameen, Nida Dar, and Najiha Alvi remained guests with 9 runs each, Imani made 6 runs, Hayley Matthews, Stephanie Taylor, and Aaliyah Eileen took 2 wickets each, while Zaida, Kershma, Shenell Henry, and Shamilah took 1 wicket each.
