West Indies Women’s Team Defeats Pakistan in Final T20 Match

Karachi: Thanks to the impressive all-round performance of West Indies women’s team captain Hayley Matthews, Pakistan easily lost the fifth and final T20 match of the series by 8 wickets, winning the series 1-4.

In the final match of the series played at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, the visiting West Indies team won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first.

National women’s team scored 134 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, with Sidra Amin being the most successful batter for Pakistan with 48 runs off 52 balls, including 5 boundaries.

From Pakistan’s side, Muneeba Ali scored 25 runs off 19 balls and Ayesha Zafar contributed 22 runs, while Natalia Pervaiz, Gul Farooqi, captain Nida Dar, and Najiha Alvi scored 2 runs each.

Fatima Sana was out on the first ball in this match, just like the previous match, while Rameen Shamim scored 16 runs and Nashra Sandhu remained not out with 1 run.

From the West Indies side, Afy Fletcher took 3 wickets by giving 17 runs, Keiana Joseph took 2 wickets by giving 26 runs, while Aaliyah Alleyne and Hayley Matthews took 1 wicket each.

The visiting West Indies team achieved the target of 135 runs for victory by losing 2 wickets in 18.2 overs.

Captain Hayley Matthews displayed a magnificent performance, scoring 78 runs off 59 balls including 11 boundaries, while Shamain Campbell scored 33 runs off 35 balls before being dismissed, and Rashada Williams was out after scoring 16 runs off 11 balls. However, Zaida James remained not out with 7 runs.

Pakistan’s only wicket came to Sadiya Iqbal.

West Indies captain and all-rounder Hayley Matthews was declared the best player of the match and series.
