The new chief selector of Pakistan’s men’s cricket team is former fast bowler Wahab Riaz. He took over the role after Inzamamul Haq stepped down amidst conflict of interest allegations. Riaz, who retired as a player in August, will be responsible for selecting the squad for the upcoming Test series against Australia and T20I series against New Zealand. He expressed his honor at the appointment and his commitment to the betterment of Pakistan cricket. Riaz also mentioned his good rapport with team director Mohammad Hafeez and his goal to focus on top performers in domestic cricket. Inzamam had resigned during the World Cup campaign and other members, including the bowling coach and captain, have also stepped down from their roles.
