A swift thief managed to steal a boxed mobile phone worth Rs45,000 from the counter while the owner was distracted. The shopkeeper has reported the incident to the police, and images of the thief captured from CCTV footage have been circulated in the city.
According to a recent report by the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), 4,396 motorbikes were stolen in October, with 817 two-wheelers being snatched at gunpoint. Additionally, 182 vehicles were stolen and 25 were snatched at gunpoint during the same period.
