The Supreme Court has instructed the Election Commission of Pakistan to address the PTI’s concerns regarding a lack of a level playing field in the upcoming general election. The PTI has been directed to submit its complaint with the ECP and the Attorney General of Pakistan has been ordered to play a role in the matter. The court acknowledged the validity of the PTI’s concerns and has summoned the AGP and the electoral watchdog. The PTI is expected to present their concerns to the ECP following the court’s directives. In a previous petition, the PTI argued that they should be allowed to contest elections without discrimination and that the ECP was failing to ensure transparency and fairness in the election process. The party also claimed that they were not being allowed to hold political gatherings and were facing legal repercussions for their activities. The court is set to issue a written verdict and has instructed the ECP to thoroughly address all of the PTI’s concerns.
