A soldier was martyred during a fierce gun battle with terrorists in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The brave soldier, Lance Naik Jamshed Khan, fought gallantly but tragically lost his life in the line of duty.

The security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and are currently sanitising the area to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining threats. The ISPR emphasized that the Pakistani security forces are unwavering in their determination to eradicate terrorism and that the sacrifices made by our courageous soldiers only strengthen their resolve.

In recent months, Pakistan has witnessed an increase in terror activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan. This surge in violence can be attributed to the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan breaking its ceasefire with the government in November last year.

Additionally, four Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred and 12 terrorists were killed in an attack in Chitral, near the Pak-Afghan border. The security forces had received information about the movement of terrorists in Nuristan and Kunar provinces of Afghanistan, leading to a timely operation that resulted in the neutralization of 12 terrorists. However, during the exchange of fire, four brave soldiers also lost their lives.

Furthermore, on August 22, six soldiers embraced martyrdom in a gun battle in South Waziristan district, with at least four terrorists being killed during the operation.

These incidents serve as a reminder of the dedication and sacrifice of our soldiers in their fight against terrorism. Pakistan remains determined to eliminate this menace and ensure the safety and security of its citizens.
