The social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, experienced continued disruption in its services in Pakistan for the third day in a row on Monday. According to Downdetector, the outage began a little after 10:30am and lasted till noon, with services being restored around 12:24pm but disrupted again after 1pm. The affected areas, as reported by Downdetector, included Karachi, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Gujranwala. The disruption came amidst allegations of election rigging on February 8.

Former Rawalpindi commissioner Liaqat Ali Chattha made accusations of election rigging against the Election Commission of Pakistan and Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, which were denied by both parties. Netblocks reported a nationwide disruption to X on Saturday amid escalating unrest and protests over allegations of election fraud.

On Sunday, Netblocks reported that X had been restricted in Pakistan for 24 hours, with digital rights activist Usama Khilji highlighting that many users were unable to access X except through select VPNs and that even most VPNs were blocked. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has yet to comment on the issue, leading to calls for transparency from the public.
