Karachi: The new year 2024 has begun in Pakistan with new hopes and determination. The arrival of the new year in Pakistan was marked with simplicity to express solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians who have been victims of Israeli terrorism. No traditional celebrations and ceremonies were held in any city of Pakistan with regards to the arrival of the new year.
President Dr. Arif Alvi congratulated the nation, the Muslim Ummah, and the global community on the beginning of the new year. In a message, he prayed for happiness, political stability, and economic strength in Pakistan and throughout the world. He said that the brothers and sisters in Palestine who are facing continuous brutal attacks from Israel cannot be forgotten at the beginning of the new year.
The President also expressed concern over the violent actions by India in occupied Kashmir and stressed the importance of the global community resolving these longstanding issues according to the United Nations resolutions for peace and stability in the world.
He expressed the desire to promote economic development, interfaith harmony, tolerance, acceptance, and mutual respect in Pakistan.
Sindh Chief Minister Justice (R) Makhdoom Jamil Bukhari, in a message on the arrival of the new year, said that the new year is rising with new hopes, new aspirations, and new challenges for the people of the country. He urged the public to celebrate the new year with respect for the law.
