Senior Journalist Jan Mohammad Mahar Fatally Shot in Sukkur, Pakistan

SUKKUR: On late Sunday evening, Jan Mohammad Mahar, a senior journalist associated with a private Sindhi newspaper and its TV channel, was tragically killed by armed men riding a motorcycle near St. Saviour School on Queens Road in Sukkur. The assailants fired multiple shots at Mr. Mahar while he was driving his car.

According to the local police, Mr. Mahar sustained several bullet wounds to his head and near his eyes. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where he was in critical condition. Unfortunately, despite undergoing surgery, he succumbed to his injuries.

Although the exact motive behind the attack is unclear at this time, the police suspect that an old enmity may have sparked the murder. The authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

Upon receiving the news of the incident, a large number of media personnel and the local journalist community gathered at the hospital. They expressed shock and sorrow upon learning about the untimely demise of Mr. Mahar.
