Dr Mahrang Baloch criticized the provincial government for imposing Section 144 in Quetta, calling it an attempt to disrupt their right to peaceful assembly. The participants of the Turbat long march had arrived in Quetta with plans to stage a rally, following a month-long protest sit-in in Islamabad. The march was in response to the alleged extrajudicial killing of Balaach Mola Bakhsh, and the demonstrators demanded an FIR be filed against the officials involved. After the imposition of Section 144, Dr Mahrang stated that it was an attempt to disrupt their “peaceful gathering” and held government officials and law enforcement agencies accountable for any unpleasant events that may occur.
