Saudi Arabia to seal agreements valued at $500 million with African countries

During the Saudi-Arab-African Economic Conference in Riyadh, Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan announced that the Saudi Fund for Development will sign agreements worth 2 billion riyals ($533 million) with African countries. Jadaan also mentioned that they are working with partners to support Ghana and other countries regarding their debt. At the same conference, Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih stated that the kingdom’s Public Investment Fund will make “game changing” investments in Africa. Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman signed preliminary agreements with African countries, including Nigeria, Senegal, Chad, and Ethiopia, on energy-related cooperation. Additionally, Mozambique’s finance ministry confirmed a financing agreement of $158 million with the Saudi Development Fund for infrastructure projects. This includes the construction of hospitals and a dam.
