Saudi Arabia has recently introduced a new e-monitoring system to detect and address vehicle insurance violations across the country. This initiative, launched by the Saudi General Traffic Department, aims to ensure that all vehicles on Saudi roads have valid insurance coverage.

The e-monitoring system will conduct electronic checks every 15 days to track and identify vehicles operating without insurance. It is designed to promote compliance with traffic regulations and laws among both citizens and expatriates residing in Saudi Arabia.

The traffic department emphasizes the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and instructions, as well as having valid insurance, in order to protect individuals’ rights in the event of any traffic accidents.

This move comes after amendments were made to the Traffic Law, which now requires all vehicles to have active insurance. Failure to comply with this mandate can result in fines ranging from a minimum of SR100 to a maximum of SR150.

By implementing this e-monitoring system, Saudi Arabia aims to enhance road safety and ensure accountability among vehicle owners and operators.

Compliance with traffic regulations and maintaining valid insurance coverage are crucial for the well-being of all road users in Saudi Arabia.
