Islamabad: The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has granted former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Tanveer Elias, bail in a case related to the use of diplomatic passports.
Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah accepted bail in exchange for a bond of one lakh rupees in the case.
Tanveer Elias’s lawyer argued that since the maximum sentence for the charges is three years, the accused should be granted bail, and the passport has also been returned.
During the hearing, the Federal Investigation Agency officials presented evidence in court, while the FIA prosecutor opposed the bail for Sardar Tanveer Elias.
