Samsam Bukhari has announced his departure from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. He made this announcement after meeting with the chairman of the Istekham-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), Jahangir Khan Tareen, in Lahore. The meeting was also attended by other senior leaders of the party, including Aun Chaudhry and Noman Langrial.

It is expected that Bukhari will join the IPP in the coming days.

In his statement, Bukhari expressed his condemnation of the May 9 violence, which was triggered after the arrest of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Qadir Trust case. He emphasized the need for collective efforts to improve the country.

Earlier, Attaullah Tarar, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Interior, shared an alleged leaked audio conversation of Samsam Bukhari discussing the May 9 violence. In the audio, Bukhari was reportedly referring to the PTI core committee’s decision to protest against the Army.

The meeting, attended by leaders such as Murad Saeed, Shehryar Afridi, Yasmin Rashid, and Shafqat Mahmood, discussed marching towards the Corps Commander’s House. However, Shafqat Mahmood denied the idea, questioning why they should protest against their own institutions.
