Rescue and relief operations are currently underway in various parts of Pakistan following heavy rain and snowfall that caused widespread damage in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan. The inclement weather has led to numerous casualties and displaced individuals in the affected regions. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Gwadar and announced a compensation package for those affected by the floods. He assured the victims that the government stands with them and will provide necessary assistance.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the death toll from rain-related incidents has risen to 40, with many others injured and hundreds of homes damaged. The Karakoram Highway has been reopened for traffic after a closure, although fuel shortages have been reported in Gilgit due to the prolonged closure.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more rain in the coming days, with a westerly wave expected to enter Balochistan. Residents in the affected areas are advised to remain prepared for further inclement weather conditions.
