Unidentified armed men abducted the footballers on September 09, according to officials.

In Dera Bugti’s Jani Bair area, six footballers were kidnapped while traveling to Sibi for the qualifying round of the ‘All Pakistan Chief Minister Gold Cup’ football tournament.

Sources said armed men intercepted the vehicles carrying the players and took them away at gunpoint. The kidnapped players were identified as Aamir Bugti, Faisal Bugti, Sohail Bugti, Yasar Bugti, and Sheraz Bugti.

On September 29, four of the six abducted footballers were rescued in an operation conducted by law enforcement agencies (LEAs).

The joint efforts of the LEAs, local administration, and the provincial government successfully led to the recovery of the kidnapped footballers.

The recovered footballers have safely returned to their homes. The authorities have assured that the remaining two footballers will also be rescued.

Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti previously announced that an operation was underway in Balochistan’s Dera Bugti area to rescue the six footballers who were kidnapped while en route to Sibi.
