PTI Senator Saifullah Abro has suggested that the PPP and PML-N should consider presenting a no-confidence motion against Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani due to their opposition to the recent resolution seeking to postpone the February 8 general elections. The resolution, which was not initially on the agenda, received support primarily from Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) senators and was also tacitly supported by some other parties, prompting criticism from politicians and lawyers. Abro highlighted that the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had publicly asserted that the elections would still take place on February 8, and he noted that a fresh resolution had been submitted by Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan in favor of conducting the polls on time. Abro further stated that the PTI would support a no-confidence motion against Sanjrani if the PPP and PML-N decided to bring one forward, and he emphasized that the current Senate’s tenure has only two months left, making it crucial for action to be taken.
