A PTI delegation, led by Asad Qaiser, met with Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Balochistan National Party (Mengal) chief Akhtar Mengal in Islamabad. The agenda was to address concerns of alleged rigging in the recent elections. PTI chairman Imran Khan directed the leaders to meet with those who had issues with the Feb 8 elections.

The discussions revolved around how winners were declared as losers in the elections and the theft of PTI’s winning seats across the country. The parties that secured seats through unfair means were urged to “respect the vote”. Mr. Achakzai emphasized the importance of upholding the Constitution, empowering parliament, and respecting the mandate of the people for the country’s progress.

PTI leaders also met with BNP-M chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal and collectively agreed to take steps against the alleged rigging in the elections. Mr. Mengal stressed the need to respect the mandate of all parties and make sure that a government with a stolen mandate is not established. The report also includes contributions from Saleem Shahid in Quetta.
