The Islamabad High Court has granted PTI leaders and lawyers permission to visit former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is currently incarcerated at Adiala Jail, and hold election meetings in preparation for the upcoming polls on February 8. This decision was made in response to a petition filed by Imran Khan, requesting permission to hold meetings with party members and seek privacy for consultations with his legal team. With the election program underway, the court also ordered a meeting between Imran and PTI Chairman Gohar Khan to be supervised by the jail superintendent. The court criticized objections from the AGP and advocate general, emphasizing the need for impartiality from the caretaker government during the election process. PTI’s lawyer also criticized the police treatment of PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi outside Adiala Jail.
