protest rallies occurred in major cities around the world including London, Madrid, and Istanbul, with thousands of people demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza as Israel plans to continue its offensive in southern Gaza. The Madrid protest saw thousands of people waving pro-Palestinian flags and banners, marching through the streets to Plaza del Sol square with signs calling for peace and an end to Palestinian suffering. In London, approximately 250,000 people joined the demonstration, demanding a ceasefire in Gaza. The protest was peaceful, but 12 arrests were made for placard-related offenses, assaults on officers, and refusal to remove face coverings. Protests also took place in Israel, with demonstrators calling for a captive-prisoner exchange deal and immediate elections in the country. These rallies followed Netanyahu’s decision not to send an Israeli delegation to Cairo for further negotiations on a deal to release captives held in Gaza.
