Prime Minister announces Rs7.5 billion Ramazan relief package – Pakistan

A Rs7.5 billion Ramazan package for needy people has been launched in Pakistan after approval by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The package allows essential items to be acquired at subsidized rates from 4,775 utility stores nationwide. The subsidy will benefit around 40 million poor families and includes items like wheat flour, rice, pulses, ghee, edible oil, sugar, and milk. Special measures are being taken to ensure quality and standard of the subsidized items, with strict monitoring in place to prevent hoarding and price hikes. The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of a countrywide awareness campaign to ensure maximum benefit for deserving families. Additionally, efforts are being made to enhance the capacity of departments involved in the privatization process to improve the economic condition of the country.
