Karachi: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has issued party tickets to 53 candidates for the National Assembly and 119 candidates for the provincial assembly in Sindh for the upcoming elections. According to the list issued by the PPP, former President Asif Ali Zardari will contest from NA-207 in Shaheed Benazirabad, while PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will contest from NA-194 in Larkana.
For the National Assembly, Khurshid Shah from NA-201 in Sukkur, Shazia Marri from NA-209 in Sanghar, Agha Rafiullah from NA-230 in Karachi, Hakeem Baloch from NA-231, Kader Mando Khel from NA-242, Kader Patil from NA-243, and Nabeel Gabol from NA-239 in Lyari are included in the list. Renowned industrialist Mirza Ikhtiar Baig has been issued a ticket for NA-241 in South and Wasim Akhtar for NA-246, while decisions for NA-250, 240, and 220 have not been made yet.
For the provincial assembly seats, candidates including Faryal Talpur, Murad Ali Shah, former provincial minister Saeed Ghani, Najmi Alam, Yousuf Baloch, Sajid Jokhio, Mahmood Alam Jamot, Azra Pechuho, Hari Ram Kishori, Imtiaz Shaikh, Agha Siraj Durrani, Sharjeel Inam Memom, Naseer Shah, and others have been included by PPP. In the provincial assembly, PPP has fielded mostly old faces.
Nine tickets for the Sindh Provincial Assembly could not be decided by the PPP, including Badin, Khairpur, Ghotki, Malir, PS-117 and PS-109 in District South Karachi, Bajrani in Kashmore, and discrepancies and NA-232 Korangi.
