In a crucial police operation that lasted seven hours, law enforcement authorities successfully recovered seven abductees in the Katcha area.

Amongst those rescued were Waqar Abbasi, Ahmed Khan Unar, and Asghar Bhatti, who had been kidnapped a month ago.

The Katcha area has been grappling with a significant problem of lawlessness. It has become a hotbed for bandit gangs that operate along the Indus River.

Despite police claims of ongoing operations to combat outlaws, incidents of kidnappings, robberies, killings, and honey-trap schemes remain rampant in the area.

Just recently, bandits killed two traders from Dera Bugti in the Karampur area of Sindh. In the same incident, one person was injured, and two others were taken hostage by the dacoits.

The local residents of Dera Bugti expressed their discontent by observing a shutter-down strike in protest against the incident.

In Shikarpur, people also staged a protest at the Indus Highway following the killing of three individuals in a firing incident by bandits.

The protesters blocked the highway, disrupting traffic flow, and chanted slogans against the inefficiency of the police in tackling the rising crime rate.

As a result of the highway closure, traffic between Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan was temporarily suspended.

The bandits had targeted a truck, opening fire and killing three people on the highway.
