Police post in Turbat attacked, three officers taken hostage

A police checkpoint in Turbat was attacked by armed men who took three constables hostage and stole their official weapons, authorities reported on Wednesday. The armed men, identified as Naeem, Nadeem, and Sameer, seized two sub-machine guns and magazines from the officers at the Singani Sarmomin police checkpoint. Police and security personnel arrived at the scene and conducted a search operation, but no arrests were made as of Wednesday midnight.

In a separate incident in Quetta, security forces apprehended Essa Khan, who forcibly entered the cantonment area without stopping at an entry checkpoint or providing identification. The suspect was driving a Suzuki Bolan with license plate number BLB-387. Following the breach, security measures were heightened and entry points to the cantonment were closed. The vehicle was intercepted near a dairy farm, and the driver was taken into custody for further investigation.

In Tank district, an intelligence-based operation resulted in the death of seven militants in the Kirri Machan Khel area. The ISPR reported that the militants were involved in targeted killings of police officials in Tank and surrounding regions. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the deceased, and a sanitization operation was initiated to eliminate any other militants in the area.
