A police team in Mumbai, India, came under attack by a mob during a raid conducted to apprehend a notorious criminal in Irani Basti. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, was captured on a nearby CCTV camera.
The targeted criminal, Firoz Khan, is a history-sheeter with a record of 35 criminal cases. The raid was carried out by officers from Mumbai’s DN Nagar police station, who were investigating a case where a man was deceived by individuals posing as police officials on August 10.
After identifying Khan’s involvement in the scam, a few members of the police team located him in a salon within Irani Basti. They promptly informed the remaining members, who reached the location and successfully took Khan into custody.
However, as the team attempted to leave the area in a van, a mob gathered and started throwing stones at them. The attack persisted until the officers managed to safely evacuate Khan from the scene.
