The membership of Engineer Anwar and Jafferullah, two senior leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party, has been suspended due to alleged violations of the party’s code of conduct. The decision was made by PML-N senior leader Hafeezur Rehman, following the recommendations of the party’s disciplinary committee.

A show-cause notice has also been issued to Engineer Anwar, who has been given a week to respond to the allegations against him.

This development comes at a time when the PML-N is gearing up to welcome back its leader, Nawaz Sharif, who is expected to return to Pakistan next month.

Earlier, the PML-N formed coordination committees to facilitate Nawaz Sharif’s return. Coordinated committees have been set up in Punjab, Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with each committee responsible for managing the reception and welcome of Nawaz Sharif.

PML-N’s chief organizer, Maryam Nawaz, has appointed key party members to lead these committees in various regions. Khawaja Saad Rafique will oversee the activities in Rawalpindi, Malik Ahmed Khan in Gujranwala, Ahsan Iqbal in Sargodha, and Khurram Dastagir in Faisalabad, among others.

Additonally, committees will be formed in 36 districts within nine divisions to ensure smooth preparations for Nawaz Sharif’s return. These committees will submit their reports to Maryam Nawaz by September 30.

PML-N’s legal team has also devised a strategy to prevent the arrest of Nawaz Sharif upon his arrival in Pakistan.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
