A 4.9 magnitude earthquake shook Islamabad and surrounding areas on Saturday night, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The earthquake, with an epicenter in the Hindu Kush region and a depth of 142 kilometers, occurred at 10:44pm PST, as reported by the National Seismic Monitoring Centre. Last month, a 6.0 magnitude earthquake hit the country, with tremors felt as far as Lahore, but no casualties or financial losses were reported.
