In response to the growing dissatisfaction over inflated electricity bills in Pakistan, the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has instructed its staff to remove the green number plates from their vehicles. This directive aims to avoid any potential backlash from the public.

As inflation continues to rise, citizens across the country are taking to the streets to protest against the exorbitant electricity bills they have received. Recognizing the potential for mass protests, PESCO is urging its employees to exercise caution.

An official notification, issued by Assistant Manager Transport at PESCO, has instructed all officers to refrain from using government vehicles, especially those with green number plates. This precautionary measure is in place until law and order are restored to prevent any untoward incidents or damage to government and PESCO assets.

It is worth mentioning that the caretaker Prime Minister, Anwaarul Haq Kakar, has called for an emergency meeting at the Prime Minister’s House to discuss the issue of rising electricity bills. The government is actively seeking solutions to address the concerns of the public.

By implementing these measures, PESCO aims to ensure the safety of its employees and prevent any further escalation of tension surrounding the issue of inflated electricity bills. It is important for all stakeholders to work together towards finding a sustainable solution that meets the needs and concerns of the people.
