Pervez Khattak, the president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarians (PTI-P), has lost from Nowshera’s NA-33 seat after parting ways from the Imran Khan-led party. According to unofficial results from all polling stations, PTI-backed independent candidate Shahid Ahad Khattak won NA-33 seat with 90,145 votes, while Pervez Khattak managed to get just 25,258 votes. It is important to note that Pervez Khattak launched a new political party under the name of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Parliamentarians after being expelled from the PTI over his statement against the party chief. The general election in 2024 concluded peacefully with active participation from voters of all age groups. The Election Commission of Pakistan reported that over 128 million registered voters were scheduled to exercise their right to vote in elections for the national and provincial legislatures. The polling was held for 265 seats of the National Assembly and 590 seats of provincial assemblies. However, due to a candidate’s death, voting will not be held in NA 8, PP 266, PK 22, and PK 91.
